CodeTogether

Teach Python live in your browser: share code, output and matplotlib plots with participants over peer-to-peer connections. With numpy, pandas and a shared view of the editor.

PythonWebRTCPyodideMonaco

CodeTogether brings live Python teaching directly to the browser. The instructor creates a room and shares its code, a link or a QR code. Participants join with a nickname and see the code, selection and output in real time. Their editor remains read-only and can optionally follow the instructor's view.

Python runs with Pyodide and WebAssembly in the instructor's browser. numpy, pandas and matplotlib are included: tables, calculations and plots appear in the output and are sent to participants. Running programs can be stopped. Code can be copied or downloaded as a Python file; the instructor also gets a local backup in their browser.

The connection uses PeerJS and WebRTC with the existing signaling, STUN and TURN services on nicohartmann.dev. Code and output are transmitted between browsers during the session. Libraries are loaded from external CDNs. The expandable privacy notice explains the connection, IP address visibility and local execution.
